It is a sad fact that in the state of Pennsylvania those in relationships other than the standard male-female type may not be married in the eyes of the Commonwealth. Other states have legalized it, and much to the surprise of certain people, the world did not end. Shocking, I know.
With much hope our dear Commonwealth may become enlightened enough to do the same, but until then we know that a true marriage occurs in the heart even when it cannot under the law.
There are benefits to this, though. Since there are no laws, there are no ceremony rules and that allows for a very open, very personal ceremony.
